About the Yasargil Tumor Grasping Forceps

The Yasargil tumour grasping forceps is a neurosurgical forceps for taking hold of tumour tissue. Its bayonet shape (an offset shaft) is common in microneurosurgical instruments. The name links it to Gazi Yaşargil, the neurosurgeon who helped develop microneurosurgery and who treated brain tumours with instruments of his own design.

Catalogue versions have jaws in more than one style. Serrated jaws grip and pull tissue, while toothed, curette-like jaws can also take small pieces. Jaw size differs from model to model.

Listed models are made of titanium with flat handles, either serrated or with holes, and come in one working length with a choice of jaw sizes. Handle design and material vary by manufacturer.
