About the Vienna Nasal Speculum
The Vienna Nasal Speculum is a hinged, hand-held speculum for the nostril. It has two relatively flat, blunt blades on pivoted handles; squeezing the handles spreads the blades sideways and widens the nasal opening for inspection or treatment.
It is one of the most widely catalogued nasal speculum patterns and is made in a size series, from infant and paediatric through small, medium and large. Economy, single-use and sterile disposable versions are sold as well as reusable stainless-steel ones.
Blade length and the size numbering are maker-specific. Black-finished surgical versions are also listed.
