Lexer Scissors
General-purpose dissecting scissors with standard beveled blades; the curved form is mostly used on dense or deep tissue.
Reusable hand instrument
About the Lexer Scissors
Lexer scissors are a general dissecting scissors pattern made straight or curved. Sklar describes them as usable in many procedures and settings, with a standard beveled cutting blade.
Surgeons may use the two forms interchangeably. Sklar notes that the curved version is the one most often used for cutting or dissecting dense or deep tissue, much like the split between straight and curved Mayo scissors.
They are made in stainless steel and with tungsten carbide cutting edges, and some lines add serrated or extra-sharp edges. Several lengths are produced, which differ by manufacturer.
